Ready to toss in your purse or tote for makeup, jewelry, electronics, pens/pencils... whatever you can dream up!
This pink and mint-blue zipper pouch is hand-marbled in a nonpareil pattern on durable white denim. It closes with a mint-blue nylon coil zipper, measures approximately 9" x 5.5" and features a detachable pom pom charm. Pattern is marbled on both sides and pouch is lined with white denim.
This pouch was hand-marbled using the traditional Turkish style of Ebru. This process begins with preparing the fabric in a mordant solution that allows paint to adhere. Water-based acrylic paint is then dropped into a bath of "heavy" water, where it floats and can be manipulated into many different patterns. The piece is then rinsed, hung to dry and ironed to heat-set as a final curative step.
The finished fabric is then hand-sewn in my smoke-free studio using 100% cotton denim fabric. While patterns and colors may be similar across different pouches, no two are ever alike due the unpredictable and magical nature of marbling.
